You can search the database by all or part of a material name (such as "fluoboric acid") or by CAS number. You can also obtain a list of every material in the database, hyperlinked to the search query for the material.

If the database finds more than one match for your search query, it will display a list of the matches, hyperlinked to the proper query for each match.

If the database finds one exact match for your search query, it will display a variety of information for the material, including:

the material name,
CAS number,
NFPA fire diamond,
hazard graphics,
ANSI-standard hazard warning words, and
Genium MSDS number.
