This application was designed as a self-study and self-testing guide to be used with the printed book. The book contains a series of medical case studies. The student must fill out the HCFA-1500 form correctly based on the information given in a case study.

When the application starts, the student gives his name and class name, then selects a case study to be tested on. The student also has the option of filling in the form without a case study, so that instructors can assign case studies that are not in the book.

The on-line help for this application includes a large amount of reference information that is in the book. It is placed on-line to make it easier for the student to look up the information and place the correct information on the form, without typos.

Since the program is intended for a wide audience, including inexperienced computer uses, we added a "Tips" feature that gives students hints about how to use the program more effectively.
