The Worker Safety Resources CD-ROM

As personal computers become ubiquitous in the workplace, publishers are turning to electronic media as a new market for the information they own. Genium Publishing asked us to help them take advantage of Adobe Acrobat's Portable Document Format technology to build a CD-ROM that would combine worker safety publications, posters and forms, relevant Federal regulations, and Material Safety Data Sheets in one easy-to-use, searchable electronic package.

We took the PDF documents that Genium had generated and added Acrobat features to them, including:

Bookmarks,
Document Info,
Hyperlinks, and
Articles.

We also wrote the documentation for the CD-ROM, wrote a Windows install program for it, and created the master CD-ROM. The CD-ROM we created used a hybrid ISO 9660 / Mac HFS format, so it works seamlessly on both the Windows and Macintosh platforms.
