The Chemical Container Labels DatabaseGenium Publishing asked us to make a searchable database of the information in their Chemical Container Labels product for their Web site. We developed indexing and searching programs in Perl, and used UNIX image processing utilities to create 625 graphics for the database. Here are some more details. The Desktop CaféDelmar Publishers asked us to design and maintain the Desktop Café, Delmar's on-line meeting place for graphic arts professionals. We've developed versions of the Cafe that use frames and tables, wrote programs in Perl and C to manipulate the HTML files, and used Mac, Windows, and UNIX image processing programs to manipulate the graphics. Since its introduction in September of 1996, it has become the most popular section of the Delmar Publishers site. The Worker Safety Resources CD-ROMGenium Publishing asked us to create a CD-ROM compilation of their popular Pocket Guides, along with a host of Genium's Material Safety Data Sheets and health- and safety-related regulations. The CD-ROM, produced with Adobe Acrobat software, runs on the Windows and Macintosh platforms. Learn more about our role in this project. The Medical Terminology Software SupplementDelmar Publishers asked us to write a Windows software supplement for Ann Ehrlich's Medical Terminology text. The application we created includes four different kinds of tests and five games. Two of the games can be played against another student or the computer. The Understanding Medical Insurance Software SupplementDelmar Publishers asked us to write a Windows software supplement for JoAnn Rowell's Understanding Medical Insurance text. The application we created tests students as they fill out a facsimile of the industry-standard HCFA-1500 form on the screen. Find out more about it.
